When updating the Tutorial section, one of the easiest to migrate prior tutorials was the Graphik Studio because it had the Graphic Resources Sub-Forum. I took that idea and applied it to the IL2 1946 forum and created an IL2 1946 Resources Sub-Forum. I updated the IL2 Tutorial category so any further tutorials will be posted in the new IL2 resources section.

Since Lord Oliver, Madcat, DrFurbar, Sanjuro having been working on so many new missions for IL2, I took Killer Klown's earlier suggestion and created a Sub-Forum under the FKMOD Map Factory.

Hopefully this will make it easier for people to find the information they are looking for.

Went through a few of the forum sections to populate the new Tutorial section. The system automatically creates a support topic, so with the old posts, I merged the new support topic with the tutorial post.

There were too many to get done all tonight, but a small dent was made in them. If there are suggestions for additional categories or sub-categories please let us know.

When the Donation Tracker caused problems yesterday, it was creating dozens and dozens of Private Messages about Donations and sending them out. Even with the forum turned off, the module turned off, the messages continued. My inbox was filled with 15 of them and one was created each time I clicked on a section of the forum. Some received as many as 26 and 34.

Just did a SQL query and 218 messages were inadvertently created.

The problem has since been resolved, so sincere apologies for the confusion this has caused people.

The Rated R channels were removed a couple of days ago. This was after discussion in the FKR Admin section as well as talking with about 35-40 people in Ventrilo over the last few days.

Part of the reason was to be more in line with our rules that we have on our game servers. It was inconsistent with the rules, contraindicated what we have always established on our game servers and and web server. There is no way to control the age of the person joining a particular channel and as adults it is not necessary to use strong vulgarity during a gaming session. We are not advocating that we are Saints or Angels, but it is more in line of what we have always expected of members of the FKR and FKM community to be. We have always had a high standard of sportsmanship in the FKR community and it has always attracted like minded individuals. Everyone wants to see that trend continue like it has since FK started this site so long ago.

No one had any objections to the changes, and agreed with the logic behind the decision. Although I am sure there will be a couple of people unhappy about the changes. But then they do not have to worry about the liability because someones young son or daughter increased their vocabulary with new adjectives.

Lets look at the definition of Rated PG vs. Rated R:


PG - Parental Guidance Suggested
Some material may be inappropriate for younger children.

There maybe some profanity and brief nudity, mild violence, or very mild drug references.


R - Restricted

No persons under 17 without parent or adult guardian admitted.

May contain very strong/sexual language, mild explicit nudity, strong/gore violence or strong drug content.

Hope that helps in understanding the reasoning behind the decision. Typically there would have been a announcement made during a change like this, but there were a few snafu's with the forums that distracted us.

For some reason the new donation tracker is not showing the correct amount. It has the ability to show the Paypal fee's, so it will show the net amount. Right now for some reason, it is only showing 505.00. I think the reason is because we upgraded mid-month and the old system did not keep track of the fee's.

It has some new features, like the ability to have anonymous donations. This will be helpful for people that always donate extra to make sure we accomplish our goal. There are no words that can I can express that would do justice to the people that always make sure we are able to pay the bills at the end of the month.

Right now, our gross donations for the month is 945.00. This includes people who send in donations outside of the system by paying directly and bypassing the donation tracker.

I'd like to thank Michael at Devfuse who is the developer of the module for all his help today. Developers like Michael @ Devfuse are extremely dedicated to their clients and support their products extremely well. He went above and beyond what would have been expected to get us up and running today.
